Younger buyers buying in the burbs?
NAR is tracking generational trends in home buying and selling.

realtor-dot-com-real-estate-newsYou may have heard that millennials are flocking to live in cities, craving the hustle and bustle of urban areas. But recent statistics show a decline in urban home sales among buyers under 35 years old.

Experts say rising urban housing prices are to blame, rather than declining interest in city living. And when it comes to buying a home, millennials are struggling to raise enough money for a down payment… just like their older home-buying peers.

These are some of the findings from a recent National Association of Realtors® report on generational trends in home buying and selling, as summarized by Realtor.com.
