The town of Laie, on the beautiful North Shore of the island of Oahu, is one of the largest communities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the site of the Laie Hawai’i Temple, the fifth oldest Mormon temple in the world. Laie is also home to B.Y.U.H. (Brigham Young University of Hawai’i) and the Polynesian Cultural Center, a multi-cultural educational experience featuring the cultures of Tonga, Samoa and Fiji among others.
Laie is comprised of mostly single-family with some 2-4 unit properties as well. Employment, shopping centers, restaurants, public facilities and transportation all located within walking distance and major employment in downtown Honolulu is approximately 1 hour away. Most homes in Laie were built in the late 1950’s and throughout the 1960’s and the area enjoys an above average appeal to the overall market. Many find the slower pace, friendly people and cleanliness of Laie as some of its outstanding qualities. Nearby Malaekahana State Recreational Area is a 37 acre oceanfront park with sandy beaches, restroom/shower facilities and campgrounds.
