Five Most Beautiful Beaches

And Where to Stay When You Get Here!

Choosing only five of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii is an exercise in insanity, but one that I accepted enthusiastically as a bonafide beach bum.  While living in Honolulu, I have visited all of the Hawaiian Islands, with the exception of Lanai, and I can honestly say that I have seen more beautiful beaches than any one human deserves to experience in a lifetime.   The following five beaches are my personal favorites.

#5 Tunnels Beach, Island of Kauai
Tunnels beach is a local favorite, and once you visit this Pacific gem, you'll understand why. This beach boasts gorgeous Bali Hai views, deep lush sand, and is known as one of the best snorkeling and diving spots in the Hawaiian Islands.

Located on the North Shore of Kauai, Tunnels beach is close to great shopping, restaurants, and easily accessible from North Shore vacation rentals.

 
#4 Hanauma Bay, Island of Oahu
Hanauma Bay is definitely best known as a snorkeling beach, and is often packed with snorkeling enthusiasts.  But don't let the crowds steer you away from spending a day sitting in the beautiful sand, looking out over one of Hawaii's most beautiful bays.  

 
#3 Ke'e Beach, Island of Kauai
Located on the far North end of Kauai, Ke'e beach is literally the end of road. With breathtaking views of Kauai's Na Pali Coast, Ke'e beach is romantic and beautiful. The beach itself is small and quaint, and is the perfect place to watch an amazing Hawaiian sunset. In fact, don't be suprised if the beach get quite crowded just before sunset, as it is a popular spot for winding down the day and seeing the colors of twilight. 

It should be mentioned that Ke'e is not a swimming beach. The water just off the shore is very shallow and rocky,  and the bottom can be quite sharp.  But you'll see the occassional Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle bobbing head above water, taking a swim where humans dare not tread.  Ke'e is a beach for sitting and drinking in the beauty of Kauai.  Beauty knows no limits at this magical Kauai beach.

 
#2 Lanikai Beach, Island of Oahu
Lanikai Beach on Oahu's windward shore is often voted as one of the Best Beaches in the World.  One trip to this perfect white sand beach will clue you in to why this beach is both popular and deserving of all the hype.
